Week End To-Do's

Ok, be honest. Put your hand up if you have ever watched TV all weekend because your to-do list wasn't that long, and if you did those chores first, watching TV would become lame - it would be come something you were doing because there was nothing else to do, whereas if you are watching because you're procrastinating - well, that is a whole other story! Come on, don't be shy. We've all done it.

Well, my friends, those days no longer reside at our house. No siree - our To-Do is SO LONG and SO EXCITING that we are chomping at the bit to get stuff done. And it. is. awesome.

Reorganizing/packing the kitchen means assessing how many kinds of tea and bbq sauce a person REALLY needs. In our case, it's 2 kinds of tea (Earl Grey for Jake, and Peppermint for me), and the 5 kinds of bbq sauce already in the fridge.
A harmless look at the calendar to try to map out when Destructo day was going to happen turned into an on-the-wall art session. We're going to chip that calendar out VERY carefully.
Some of the stellar artwork (and notes about tradespeople) in the afternoon sun.

Our interim kitchen. Eventually that wall will disappear, and all of the awesomeness you see here will live around the corner in the sun room.
More artwork. The house and swing set looks like it was drawn by a 5 year old, no? That was me. It was the only thing I really learned how to draw as a kid, and I have not improved one iota since then. Also, I still can't colour in the lines. The portrait is of sis-in-law L. Can you tell?

Ooh boy, lath and plaster is fun.
More gone! Jake is a trooper!
THE REAL FUN! This is the former pantry. The plan is to move the stairs to the basement to come through here. I had always thought it was going to be a tight fit, but once we got all the coats, and all random pantry stuff (pop, potatoes, onions, the most giant thing of saran wrap you've ever seen) out of there, plus the wall, it is quite roomy!

Enjoying the sunny back deck after some good solid progress. Well deserved, I'd say!

So, in case you were wondering, we have set the demo date for May 5th. There is A LOT to do before then, but we're so excited about it, I think we'll be able to make it.

WHOOP!
